Jay Kalath, Chief Technology Officer

As Chief Technology Officer (CTO), Jay Kalath is responsible for establishing the company's technical vision and leading all aspects of the company's technology development and ERP delivery services. Jay plays an integral role in the company's strategic direction, development, and future growth. One of his primary objectives includes managing the process improvement group within B&A. This team is responsible for establishing and re-engineering business processes and standards and ensuring adherence to them for corporate development and operations.

Jay joined B&A in 2002, and prior to accepting his CTO role, he supported the DHS Customs and Border Protection (CBP) ACE Modernization project. During his tenure on the project, Jay had two primary positions; Enterprise Integration Services (EIS) deputy manager and International Trade Data Systems (ITDS) enterprise architect. As the EIS deputy manager, Jay shared responsibility in managing over 25 software engineers as part of the overall application development team. As an ITDS enterprise architect, Jay focused on the planning and integration of other government agencies into the ACE environment for the purposes of secondary processing, enforcement and statistical reporting.

Jay has extensive knowledge and expertise in enterprise architecture design, software lifecycle management and development, and systems engineering. His background experience includes management, functional and technical development within an SAP and WebSphere/MQ platform environment.

Prior to joining B&A, Jay held management and technical consulting roles for large integrators such as the Boeing Company and Booz Allen & Hamilton as well as few smaller consulting firms. His project level experience expands across both the commercial and DoD federal sector with clients that include: International Paper, Kaiser Permanente, Ballistic Missile Defense Organization (BMDO), Air Force TRANSCOM, DARPA and DISA.

Jay volunteers and supports many charitable events such as Race for the Cure, Help the Homeless and Habitat for Humanity. He is born and raised in the DC metropolitan area and is a graduate of George Mason University.
