Department of Homeland Security (DHS)
On September 11, 2001 terrorist attacks on American soil underscored the need for a new attitude towards national security, one requiring a coordinated approach to dealing with potential threats and to provide a more secure integrated way of sharing data. In 2002, the newly formed Department of Homeland Security (DHS) was assembled with 22 organizations focusing on a single mission.
Bart & Associates, Inc. (B&A) has been supporting Customs and Border Protections (CBP) since 1988. With our cleared resources currently supporting various initiatives within DHS, B&A has been the forefront of the most critical law enforcement related activities within the United States. During this time, B&A has performed a variety of tasks including the collection of user requirements, design and development, implementation, and maintenance. B&A incorporated legacy systems and users into the CBP enforcement system, developed multiple electronic interfaces with other internal CBP systems and other DHS systems, and external Federal, state, and local law enforcement systems. B&A has also been involved in the CBP Customs Modernization and CBP Office of Finance projects. Below are descriptions of some of the DHS agencies/projects that B&A supports:
