CBP, Treasury Enforcement Communications System

The Bureau of Customs and Border Protection's (CBP) mission is to enforce the laws of more than 40 agencies and to protect the revenue of the United States (US) while facilitating trade. It is also charged with the enforcement of all immigration laws; determining admissibility of all aliens visiting this country; and processing deportation candidates. To assist in this mission, the CBP maintains the Treasury Enforcement Communications System (TECS). B&A is the prime contractor used by CBP with respect to this law enforcement system.

TECS is the automated system used by most Federal agencies for border enforcement needs and the sharing of border information. The law enforcement systems are tailored to support the CBP mission requirement areas of investigations, case management, inspections, and intelligence. TECS supports over 32,000 users from more than 20 Federal agencies. The system is a mainframe-based application, processing over 2 million transactions daily.
