SAP Solution Meets Business Goals of IRS
Challenge: Evaluate, recommend and implement an ERP solution that meets IRS's business objectives and results and provides the credibility they are looking for within the federal arena and in the eyes of taxpayers.
Solution: In analyzing the best way to achieve this goal, the B&A consultants evaluated four ERP vendors and selected SAP as the final choice. The B&A consultants implemented the following modules as part of Phase one: General Ledger, Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable, Controlling, Business Warehouse, Procurement, and Strategic Enterprise Management. These modules will replace the IRS's existing financial system and be interfaced to several legacy systems. The long-term plan is to upgrade to Enterprise, fully implement Procurement and Asset Management. Business Results will be improved through increased compliance with Treasury / JFMIP / FASAB / CFO Act / GAO and other directives, improved public trust and efficiency, enhanced management / decision making, improved transaction cycle times and decreased transactional error rates and less than favorable publicity.
