SAP Solution Meets Business Requirements of IRS

Challenge:

  • Design, plan, implement, and monitor an ERP solution that fulfills the IRS' business requirements
  • Replace the existing financial system with an ERP solution that will interface with several legacy systems
  • Maintain the agency's credibility within the government and with the public
  • Construct a plan to eventually upgrade to SAP- Enterprise
  • Implement SAP- Procurement and Asset Management

Solution:

  • Evaluated four ERP vendors and selected SAP as the final choice
  • Implemented the following modules as part of Phase One: General Ledger, Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable, Controlling, Business Warehouse, Procurement, and Strategic Enterprise Management

Results:

  • Fulfilled business requirement to increase compliance with Treasury/JFMIP/FASAB/CFO Act/GAO and other directives
  • Increased public trust
  • Received less unfavorable publicity
  • Decreased transactional error-rates
