B&A Celebrates 30 Years of Business
September 18, 2018 – McLean, VA – September 16, 2018 marked the 30th anniversary of the founding of Bart & Associates, Inc. (B&A). B&A was founded September 16, 1988 to provide full lifecycle systems development and integration of enterprise systems for what is now Customs and Border Protection (CBP), the largest component of DHS.
The company growth accelerated as the Border Security industry flourished post 9/11, and B&A saw a rise in employees, becoming one of the industry leaders in Border Security (monitoring of vehicles, ships, planes, cargo, and passengers). In 2004, B&A expanded into SAP and PeopleSoft and the ERP Practice was established, and in 2015, B&A established itself as a true mid-sized business with a defined service delivery model including four Practice Areas (SAP, Oracle, PeopleSoft, and Legacy Systems Modernization) with Agile Software Development services and Certified Hosting Solutions supplementing each Practice Area.
In June 2018, B&A announced that Kion Yap, CEO, Paul Mangus, Co-Founder and Executive Vice President, and Jesus Medrano, Executive Vice President, would be stepping down from their current roles and would continue to serve in an advisory capacity as active board members. Jonathan Evans was appointed as Chief Executive Officer of B&A, in addition to his role as President. Approaching the 30th anniversary, in July 2018, Bart & Associates officially announced that it would be doing business as B&A and adopted a new corporate logo. The new name and logo represent B&A’s continued dedication to delivering innovative solutions.
Jonathan Evans reflected on the company’s 30th anniversary by saying, “B&A has truly grown into a mature and reputable organization and we could not have done it without the B&A employees and their families. 30 years is a special celebration and should not go unnoticed!”
